Hi! I am Jill Gaumont
I joined my first yoga class way back in the fall of 1999. I immediately fell in love with the physical aspects of the practice and how an hour and a half of mindful movement and breath made me feel.
In 2003 I enrolled in my first Yoga Teacher Training program at Yoga for Today in Sherwood Park, Alberta, and received certification through the Yoga Association of Alberta shortly there after. Being young & strong at the time I was drawn to the more intense & acrobatic lineages of yoga (Ashtanga/Iyengar), but a few years of those very demanding, repetitive practices left me experiencing persistent debilitating back pain.
Thankfully at this time my mentor teacher & good friend Joan Randolph introduced me to the Egoscue Method. Shortly after using the Egoscue Method to resolve my own persistent pain I became an Egoscue Certified Postural Alignment Specialist.
Over the past 17+ years I have trained & certified with other brilliant teachers such as Michael Stone, John Scott, Fiona Stang, Kathryn Bruni-Young, Katy Bowman & many more. With over 1000 hours of yoga training I am now a Certified Senior Teacher with the Yoga Association of Alberta.
I have integrated years of practice & education into the Realignment Yoga & Hatha Strength classes offered here. You can find me teaching weekly live online group classes via zoom. Check out the schedule here.
